Logicor welcomes Normal to Spain with lease of fully refurbished 40,000 sqm logistics hub

  • Logicor will undertake upgrades to the facility to meet Customer’s needs, including the addition of a mezzanine structure, climate-controlled areas and a specialised storage section for flammable goods. 
  • The Danish company will lease the facility in El Pla de Santa María, Tarragona, to improve its distribution capabilities in Spain and southern France.

Madrid, 20th October 2025 - Logicor, a leading owner, manager and developer of logistics assets in Europe, secured the leasing of its 40,000 logistics hub in El Pla de Santa Maria, (Tarragona) to Normal, a Danish retailer of all the things that we cannot do without in our everyday life. 
The strong commitment and collaboration between Logicor, Cushman & Wakefield and ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment (Government of Catalonia) led to the achievement of a major milestone in driving a prosperous economic model in Catalonia, aligned with the decarbonization goals.
Normal, which has more than 900 stores across nine European countries, is making a strong debut in Spain by opening its first logistics centre less than 100 km from Barcelona and very close to the French border.
This new distribution hub will enable Normal to supply the Spanish, Portuguese and south Franch stores swiftly and efficiently. The Danish company's debut in Tarragona is also set to boost the local economy by creating skilled jobs in an area rich in qualified talent.   
Favourable data on the availability of skilled labour in the region, a smooth working relationship among the parties, and Logicor's expertise in delivering customized solutions, all played a decisive role in securing the Deal. 
The new logistics centre will offer much more than just warehouse space. Logicor will drive innovation, sustainability, and operational efficiency by undertaking a customization of the asset to improve the efficiency and operational experience.
Logicor will deliver upgrades, including constructing a mezzanine structure to increase the Gross Leasable Area (GLA) to 41,690 sqm, installing a climate-controlled storage facility essential for storing sensitive products and creating a specialised storage space for flammable goods in full compliance with safety standards.

This warehouse will be our first outside of Denmark, but not the last. It has a great location in supporting our growth and will play a key role in our warehouse and distribution network. Cushman & Wakefield and Forcadell jointly led the co-exclusive marketing of the asset. Cuhsman & Wakefield and ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment (Government of Catalonia) had a relevant role highlighting the importance of an investment like this for Catalonia of a company as Normal.

A leading asset
The warehouse in El Pla de Santamaría offers over 39,000 sqm of storage space and 1,500 sqm office space. The asset has 44 loading docks and a clear height of 10 meters. After all the improvements, the total GLA will be about 41,700 sqm.
