Over 400 students from five schools across Dartford have shared their thoughts on the future of logistics warehousing with one of the UK’s leading landlords, Logicor.

Across a series of interactive workshops, Logicor, a developer, owner and manager of logistics real estate, and charity, The Talent Foundry, worked with over 400 students from local schools to share with them real life experiences of work and how what the children were learning in school translates into the world of property.

Welling, Northfleet, Stone Lodge, St John Catholic Comprehensive and Harris Gerrard Academy, hosted volunteers from Logicor and facilitators from The Talent Foundry. Through these interactive workshops the students explored a variety of topics – from understanding what a supply chain is and how online shopping works, how to apply maths to understand rental agreements and the design of a logistics park to presentation skills required to pitch a new business idea. The students were also tasked with designing a logistics park and creating an advert to attract new customers.

Reach Dartford provided a workshop where students were encouraged to learn and discuss career paths in a friendly environment and were inspired by Logicor volunteers sharing their experiences. The sessions opened their eyes to a sector of employment they have likely not considered, and emphasised local employment opportunities."

Logicor owns 41m sq ft of logistics property across the UK and has recently acquired a new site in Dartford, known as Logicor Park Dartford, adjacent to the Dartford Bridge.

As part of our focus to positively impact and engage the communities in which we operate, we partnered with The Talent Foundry, a UK charity that matchmakes businesses to schools, to help meet local community needs

Through this community support our focus has been to inspire children and young people in Dartford to develop the skills and confidence to discover their talents and take their first steps into the world of work, and apply the skills they learn at school to future work opportunities in real estate."
