8 October 2024 – Logicor, a leading owner, manager, and developer of logistics real estate in Europe, and the City Council of Azuqueca de Henares have joined forces on a lake restoration project at the Azuqueca de Henares Municipal Bird Sanctuary.
Logicor sponsors the installation of several floating islands, which will contribute to improve the water quality of the lakes at the Sanctuary and as such, will help create the optimal environment for the species that make up the Reserve.
The islands have aquatic plants on a floating structure, with roots growing in the water to provide them with the nutrients they need to grow. These islands will help purify the water and lower its temperature by blocking UV rays, as well as provide shelter for nesting and protection from predators for the reserve's birds.
The islands have been placed in the first two largest of the four lakes comprising the Sanctuary.
